Who is Ettie Tom?

Ettie Tom is an Interior Design studio founded by Eliza Boers in 2018. The name “Ettie Tom” is derived from Eliza’s children’s great-grandparents’ names, giving the studio a personal and meaningful connection to family history.

Ettie Tom Interior Design is based in Northern NSW. We create beautiful yet highly functional, timeless interiors across Sydney, the Northern Rivers (including Byron Bay, Bangalow, Lennox Head and beyond), and the Southern Highlands. The studio works across residential, boutique commercial, retail and multi-residential projects, designing interiors that are both practical, visually enduring, and made to be enjoyed

At its core, Ettie Tom is driven by a belief that good design should feel effortless and intuitive. Every project begins with a strong focus on spatial planning, ensuring each space is resolved from the inside out. From there, the studio layers colour, texture and materials to create interiors that feel warm, grounded and deeply connected to their environment.

Each project is carefully developed in response to site, light and lifestyle, resulting in spaces that feel personal, considered and lasting. Ettie Tom offers a full-service design experience, managing every stage from concept and documentation through to construction coordination and final interior detailing. The studio works closely with architects, builders, landscapers and developers to ensure every element feels cohesive and resolved.

A bit about Eliza…

Eliza brings over a decade of experience in the design industry, having worked with award-winning architecture and interior design studios in Sydney. This background has shaped her thoughtful and highly considered approach to interiors — balancing functionality, warmth and timeless design.

With a strong eye for detail and a passion for creating spaces that feel both beautiful and deeply personal, Eliza works closely with each client to create a space that feels practical, comfortable and beautiful. Her collaborative and approachable nature ensures the design process feels clear, enjoyable and seamless, guiding clients through every stage with confidence and ease.

Outside of the studio, Eliza enjoys family life with her husband and three children. You’ll often find her at kids’ weekend sports, and when she’s not there, she loves spending time outdoors — being at the beach, camping, and enjoying time with family and friends. She also loves a good dinner party and enjoys entertaining at home.

She finds inspiration in travel, nature, art and everyday life, as well as in a deep appreciation for beautiful natural materials and thoughtfully crafted objects — from expressive marbles and beautiful lighting to exceptional artwork. These influences, along with the way people actually live in and move through spaces, naturally inform her approach to design.
